Job summary

Bluelight is seeking a Sr. DevOps/SRE professional to architect and operate secure, scalable cloud infrastructure for client projects. You will manage CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, incident response, and IAM, with a focus on reliability and security across AWS services.

The role requires 5+ years in DevOps/SRE/DevSecOps and strong AWS, IaC, and PostgreSQL experience, plus the ability to overlap US business hours. Remote work options are available for this expanding consultancy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional experience in DevOps, SRE, or DevSecOps roles
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (ECS/Fargate, RDS/Aurora, ALB, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS, S3)
• Experience operating Aurora/PostgreSQL in production, including multi-AZ failover, read replicas, and replica lag monitoring
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
• Experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and ECS/Fargate
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with deployment automation and tested rollback paths, including rollback drills
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tooling (OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, or similar)
• Experience with load testing (k6 or similar) and operating services against latency SLOs and error budgets
• Security-first mindset: experience with vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and compliance/hardening practices
• Experience supporting SOC 2 (or similar) audit evidence and client security reviews
• Experience with incident response, on-call rotations, and root-cause analysis
• Substantial background working with large, complex systems
• Ability to overlap US business hours

Responsibilities

• Develop and operate secure, scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
• Lead incident response and on-call rotations; perform root-cause analysis
• Implement security controls, vulnerability management, and audit-ready evidence
• Collaborate with clients and teams across US time zones to ensure service levels
• Oversee multi-tenant environments and database architectures (Aurora/PostgreSQL)
• Monitor performance, reliability, and latency against SLOs; optimize operational costs
• Mentor teammates and promote best practices in DevOps and SRE
