Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead the design, development, and scaling of cloud infrastructure with a strong emphasis on automation, security, and operational excellence.

In this role, you will own end-to-end CI/CD pipelines, implement Infrastructure-as-Code, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with global product and platform teams to improve reliability, performance, and developer productivity. Fluency in English and Spanish is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure with production-grade systems.
• Deep experience with AWS or Azure and related services.
• Hands-on with Docker and Kubernetes; experience building Kubernetes Operators.
• Programming/scripting in Python, Go, or Bash.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools and automating deployment workflows.
• Solid understanding of networking, cloud security, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Crossplane).
• Observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
• Excellent problem solving and cross-team communication; fluent in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and manage robust cloud infrastructure leveraging AWS and Azure.
• Design and build Kubernetes-based infrastructure and applications; develop operators.
• Develop and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment.
• Collaborate with development and operations to ensure production reliability and performance.
• Automate provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to maintain system health and respond to incidents.
• Mentor junior engineers and share DevOps best practices across teams.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support production environments.
