Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Mid-level Data Engineer to build and maintain dbt pipelines and Snowflake data marts powering in‑app reporting, spend analytics, and AI features. The role emphasizes strong SQL, Python, data modeling, and modern cloud warehousing with ingestion/orchestration tools.

You will also contribute to semantic layers, ensure data quality, and build FastAPI services for customer reporting while maintaining data privacy and scalable production systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in analytics engineering, data engineering, or similar with production pipelines.
• Solid dbt experience: modeling, tests, macros, incremental models.
• Strong SQL and Python, plus data modeling fundamentals.
• Experience with modern cloud warehouses (Snowflake preferred).
• Ingestion tooling and orchestration (Airbyte, Prefect) experience.
• Familiarity with guardrails around AI/code tooling and data privacy.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain dbt pipelines, data marts, and warehouse models for reporting and analytics.
• Translate complex procurement logic into reliable, well-tested pipeline code.
• Develop models within data mart architecture and improve grain and conformance.
• Contribute to semantic layer definitions for consistent metrics and dimensions.
• Maintain boundary between PII and reporting data; build FastAPI services for customers.
• Create ingestion pipelines (Airbyte, OneSchema, S3) and support Forward Deployed Engineering.
• Implement data quality checks, freshness, schema tests, and alerting.
• Document data lineage and ensure reliable data for AI agents and dashboards.
