Job summary

Sezzle is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own data pipelines, transformations, and reporting that feed credit bureau furnishing. You will work in a fast-paced fintech team, debugging SQL and Python workflows, and partnering with Customer Service, Compliance, and Engineering to ensure accurate, timely customer data reporting.

You should bring 5+ years of data engineering or software development experience, advanced SQL, strong Python, and experience with dbt, Redshift, PostgreSQL, and AWS.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or related.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or software engineering with ownership of production data pipelines.
• Advanced SQL skills including complex joins and data reconciliation.
• Strong Python skills for reading, debugging, and maintaining code.
• Experience with version control, automated testing, monitoring, and safe deployment.

Responsibilities

• Own recurring credit bureau furnishing operations and data submissions.
• Build, maintain, and debug SQL transformations and Python scripts.
• Trace data discrepancies and implement lasting fixes across systems.
• Investigate escalations from Customer Service and Compliance with approved policies.
• Develop automated tests, reconciliations, and monitoring for reporting processes.
• Collaborate with Engineering on defects and with Compliance on reporting requirements.
