Job summary

Monks is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and evolve scalable data solutions for digital marketing use cases. You will work with Analytics and Solutions Engineering to handle end-to-end data engineering from discovery to deployment, supporting reporting and analytics.

Role focuses on robust data pipelines, analytics-ready models across DSPs and third-party sources, and contributing to client projects with requirements clarification and planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters in CS, Engineering, applied math or related quantitative field (or equivalent work experience).
• 4+ years in analytics, marketing analytics or related fields.
• Hands-on SQL and Python with cloud product experience.
• Experience building data pipelines with ETL/ELT tools and data architecture patterns.
• Familiar with Agile and DataOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain dbt models consolidating marketing and advertising data across platforms.
• Develop cross-platform metric allocation logic for monthly reporting and attribution.
• Build and maintain ingestion pipelines from diverse sources including cloud transfers and vendor APIs.
• Manage GCP infrastructure with Terraform and collaborate with platform teams.
• Lead migration of legacy ingestion to scalable, modern implementations using Dataflow and Cloud Run.
• Configure observability and alerting across the stack using Cloud Monitoring and Terraform.
• Manage release lifecycle across QA, STG, and PROD and automate release notes via GitHub Actions.
• Produce technical documentation, runbooks, and client-facing design artifacts.
• Collaborate with analytics and client-facing teams to translate requirements into reliable data products.
