Job summary

Bechtel Argentina is seeking a seasoned Environmental Permits Manager to lead permit acquisition and compliance for a major mining/energy project. The role bridges engineering design, regulatory agencies, and project planning, ensuring alignment with national and provincial requirements and the client’s environmental standards.

Fluency in English and Spanish is required, with a strong emphasis on technical rigor and timely communication.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineer with 10 years of experience in substation and line construction.
• High Voltage experience in at least 2 mining projects.
• Ability to learn and apply local, state/province, and national statutes and guidelines.
• Attention to detail and time-conscious, time-efficient work.
• English and Spanish proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Manage permits matrix and identify competent bodies, submission requirements, deadlines.
• Prepare, review and submit Environmental Impact Report and biennial updates with supporting documentation.
• Manage sectoral permits: water use, emissions, waste, and related environmental controls.
• Maintain technical dialogue with authorities and report progress to project management.
• Translate environmental requirements into engineering terms and coordinate with disciplines.
