Prometeo Talent is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for a 100% remote role serving a US-based cybersecurity startup. You will design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Python, with ownership of features across their lifecycle and collaboration with a highly technical team.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of backend experience, strong distributed systems knowledge, and hands-on Docker/Kubernetes in production.

Formación

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering or backend development.
• Strong experience with Java and Python, building production-grade backends.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and asynchronous processing.
• Experience with databases, message queues, and data pipelines.
• Hands-on Docker and Kubernetes in production.
• Strong ownership and ability to thrive in startup environments.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to review and improve code.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services with Java and Python.
• Develop distributed systems with databases, APIs, queues, and data pipelines.
• Own features from design through monitoring and optimization.
• Build production-ready systems focused on reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to translate requirements into solutions.
• Improve system performance, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate delivery while ensuring quality.
• Participate in architectural discussions and key technical decisions.
