AgileEngine is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build and maintain backend services and REST APIs for a data analytics platform. You will integrate third‑party sources and manage authentication/authorization with modern tools.

You will work on containerized Python services on EKS, use AWS serverless components, and collaborate with a data engineer on S3/Glue/Athena pipelines and Bedrock-based scoring. Remote-friendly with a focus on scalable, secure systems.

Formación

• 5–7 years of backend software development experience.
• Strong Python proficiency with FastAPI and SQLAlchemy.
• Designing and building REST APIs consumed by a front-end.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and heterogeneous data sources.
• Relational databases (PostgreSQL) and migrations.
• Background task processing with Celery or Redis.
• Containerized deployment with Docker and Kubernetes/EKS.
• Familiarity with S3/Glue/Athena or data lakes and serverless query engines.
• Ability to call LLM APIs from application code and reason about constraints.
• Comfort with Mac/Linux terminal environments.
• Hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools with critical judgment.
• Strong soft skills to defend technical opinions.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs.
• Integrate third‑party/internal data sources and manage auth/rate limits.
• Build containerized Python services and background workers on EKS.
• Develop and test AWS serverless components (Lambda/Step Functions).
• Implement Auth0, OpenFGA/ReBAC for authorization.
• Collaborate with data engineer on S3/Glue/Athena and Bedrock scoring layer.
• Leverage Claude on AWS Bedrock and evaluate AI outputs.
• Engage with engineers daily via Slack/Meet.
• Drive alignment with stakeholders on requirements and non‑functional needs.
