Job summary

Freelance Latin America is seeking a Senior Backend Developer to design, implement, and optimize scalable Python/Django backends. You will work on REST APIs, database design, and security, with a focus on performance and reliability.

Responsibilities include building APIs, tuning PostgreSQL, deploying with Docker and AWS, and implementing logging, caching, and security best practices. Remote-friendly with international collaboration in EST hours.

Qualifications

• Strong backend development experience, ideally senior level.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with Django and Django REST Framework (DRF).
• Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL, including design, indexing, and query tuning.
• Experience using ELK Stack for logging, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Practical experience with Docker and containerized apps.
• Familiarity with AWS services and cloud environments.
• Understanding of encryption, authentication, and backend security practices.
• Experience with Redis for caching or data management.
• Strong analytical thinking, debugging skills, and problem solving.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities for scalable solutions.
