Responsibilities include building APIs, tuning PostgreSQL, deploying with Docker and AWS, and implementing logging, caching, and security best practices. Remote-friendly with international collaboration in EST hours.

Qualifications

• Strong backend development experience, ideally senior level.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Developer with strong expertise in Python, Django, and PostgreSQL to support the development, optimization, and maintenance of scalable backend applications.

The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of database architecture, API development, system performance, and security best practices. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented developer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and building reliable, high-performance solutions.

Duties / Task to Perform

• Develop, maintain, and optimize backend applications using Python, Django, and Django REST Framework (DRF).
• Design and manage PostgreSQL databases, ensuring efficient data structures, indexing, and query optimization.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs to support application functionality and system integrations.
• Analyze and improve database performance, scalability, and overall system efficiency.
• Implement and maintain logging and monitoring solutions using the ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana).
• Work with Docker to containerize applications and maintain consistent development environments.
• Support application deployment and infrastructure-related tasks using AWS services.
• Apply encryption, authentication, and security best practices to protect applications and sensitive data.
• Implement and optimize caching and data management solutions using Redis.
• Troubleshoot backend issues, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement effective technical solutions.
• Collaborate with technical teams to maintain code quality, reliability, and application performance.

Requirements

• Strong professional experience in backend development, preferably at a senior level.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Strong hands-on experience with Django and Django REST Framework (DRF).
• Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL, including database design, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience using the ELK Stack for application logging, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Practical experience with Docker and containerized applications.
• Working knowledge of AWS services and cloud environments; deep expertise is not required.
• Understanding of encryption techniques, authentication methods, and backend security practices.
• Experience with Redis for caching or data management.
• Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting skills, and ability to solve complex technical problems.
• Ability to work independently, manage technical priorities, and contribute to scalable backend solutions.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Celery for asynchronous task processing and background jobs.
• Familiarity with WebSockets for real-time communication and application functionality.
