SQUIRE is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for the Payments Team in Buenos Aires, focused on building and maintaining payment systems and fintech infrastructure. You will work with Node.js, ensure robust processing flows, and collaborate with product and engineering for seamless integration.

The role requires deep payments domain knowledge, English proficiency, and willingness to be on-site in CABA two days a week. You will report to Engineering Manager and contribute to platform-wide policies.

Formación

• At least 7 years of experience in application development using Node.js.
• Proven experience in the payments or fintech domain with production payment systems.
• Strong understanding of the payment processing lifecycle: authorization, capture, refund, void, and chargebacks.
• Experience with reconciliation between internal systems and external payment providers.
• Familiarity with financial ledgers and double-entry bookkeeping principles.
• English proficiency is a must for cross‑team communication.
• Based in Buenos Aires with on-site availability in CABA two days a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Build and maintain high-quality payment features and financial infrastructure using Node.js.
• Design, implement, and maintain reliable payment processing flows and ledgers.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate payment systems.
• Participate in code reviews and drive code quality improvements.
• Contribute to hiring and policy discussions within the Platform Community.
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects in payment‑critical systems.
