Position Overview

As a Payment Systems Integration Engineer, you will be instrumental in integrating and optimizing payment systems to support our global growth strategy. You’ll work at the core of our fintech platform, helping to deliver secure, seamless, and scalable payment solutions tailored to diverse customer needs across multiple geographies. This is a key opportunity to shape how we build and manage payment infrastructure as we grow internationally.

What You Will Do

• Integrate and maintain payment systems and gateways to ensure seamless transaction processing across multiple platforms and regions.
• Design and implement secure APIs and services to interface with third‑party payment providers and internal systems.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and finance teams to define and implement payment flows and reconciliation processes.
• Monitor and troubleshoot payment transaction failures, delays, and discrepancies, ensuring high system availability and fast resolution of issues.
• Maintain clear and up‑to‑date technical documentation for payment integrations, including flow diagrams, API references, and vendor‑specific nuances.

Skills & Competencies Required

• Proficient in PHP, with strong experience in Laravel or similar frameworks for backend development.
• Deep understanding of MySQL: writing complex queries, performance tuning, indexing, and maintaining data integrity.
• Hands‑on experience integrating third‑party APIs — especially payment gateways — using REST, SOAP, JSON‑RPC, and Webhooks.
• Familiarity with various payment API flows: token‑based, session‑based, redirect, server‑to‑server, and client‑side SDKs.
• Skilled at interpreting and implementing complex API documentation quickly and accurately.
• Solid knowledge of web security practices, including CSRF/XSS protection, token management, encryption, and PCI DSS compliance.
• Experience with queue systems, background processing, and asynchronous event handling (e.g., Laravel Queues, Redis, RabbitMQ).
• Ability to debug and resolve API communication issues, monitor logs, and ensure real‑time transaction integrity.
• Excellent communication skills — able to bridge technical discussions between engineering, QA, product, and external payment partners.
• Strong documentation practices — capable of writing clean integration guides and maintaining technical specs.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑ownership environment with minimal supervision.
• Experience in fintech, e‑commerce, or high‑volume transactional systems is a strong advantage.
