Prometeo Talent is partnering with a fast-growing US-based cybersecurity startup to hire a Senior Backend Engineer who thrives in startup environments and enjoys building scalable systems from the ground up.

You will design, build, and maintain distributed backend services with Java and Python, leverage AI-assisted development, and own features end-to-end in a fast-paced tech team. This role offers 100% remote work from LATAM and opportunities to influence product strategy.

Qualifikationen

• 8+ years of software engineering or backend development experience.
• 5+ professional experience with Python, building and maintaining production-grade backend systems.
• Strong experience with Java.
• Hands-on experience with AI/LLM-based application development in production environments.
• Experience building AI-driven features, LLM integrations, or agentic workflows in production.

Aufgaben

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Python.
• Develop distributed systems involving databases, APIs, message queues, and data processing pipelines.
• Take full ownership of features and services throughout their lifecycle, from design and implementation to monitoring and optimization.
• Build production-ready systems with a strong focus on reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Improve system performance, scalability, and operational efficiency across the platform.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while ensuring code quality and engineering best practices.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to key technical decisions as the company scales.
• Continuously improve development processes, tooling, and engineering standards.
