Job summary

SQUIRE is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build and maintain high-quality features for our Commander platform. This role sits in Buenos Aires on a hybrid model with in-office days on Tuesdays and Thursdays, reporting to the Engineering Manager.

You will work with Node.js or another backend language, review code, participate in interviews, and collaborate with an English-speaking team. Requirements include 3–5 years in backend development, Git, Agile experience, and a Bachelor’s degree

The Senior Backend Engineer plays a crucial role in building and maintaining high-quality product features for our platform application. This role is part of the Commander web Application, with hiring and technology policies defined and owned by the Engineering Manager.

Reports To: Engineering Manager

Location: Buenos Aires, ARG (Hybrid, In-office in CABA on Tuesdays and Thursdays)

YOUR CRAFT (Job Duties & Responsibilities)

• Build and maintain high-quality product features for applications using Node.js. or any other backend language.
• Collaborate with the product team and other engineers to support our Commander web application
• Actively participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to improve overall code quality.
• Participate in interview panels related to platform development hiring.
• Work closely with the Engineering Manager, following the guidelines and direction provided by the Engineering Manager.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and other technical issues.

YOUR FOUNDATION (Experience & Skills)

• 3 to 5 years of experience in application development using backend languages
• Strong knowledge of architecture patterns, frameworks, and best practices.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science is preferred.
• English proficiency is a must. It's important you can communicate your ideas clearly as you will be interacting with English-speaking coworkers.
