Job summary

SQUIRE in Buenos Aires is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build and maintain high-quality features for our Commander platform. The role is hybrid, with in-office days in CABA on Tuesdays and Thursdays, reporting to the Engineering Manager.

You will collaborate with product and engineering teams, participate in code reviews, and help shape platform development through interview panels. Strong backend skills, English communication, and the ability to work effectively in a remote team are

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of backend development experience.
• Strong knowledge of architecture patterns, frameworks, and best practices.
• Experience with Git and other version control systems.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to collaborate in remote teams.
• English communication is essential.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred.

The Senior Backend Engineer plays a crucial role in building and maintaining high-quality product features for our platform application. This role is part of the Commander web Application, with hiring and technology policies defined and owned by the Engineering Manager.

Reports To: Engineering Manager
Location: Buenos Aires, ARG (Hybrid, In-office in CABA on Tuesdays and Thursdays)
Type: Contract

YOUR CRAFT (Job Duties & Responsibilities)

• Build and maintain high-quality product features for applications using Node.js. or any other backend language.
• Collaborate with the product team and other engineers to support our Commander web application
• Actively participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to improve overall code quality.
• Participate in interview panels related to platform development hiring.
• Work closely with the Engineering Manager, following the guidelines and direction provided by the Engineering Manager.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and other technical issues.

YOUR FOUNDATION (Experience & Skills)

• 3 to 5 years of experience in application development using backend languages
• Strong knowledge of architecture patterns, frameworks, and best practices.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science is preferred.
• English proficiency is a must. It's important you can communicate your ideas clearly as you will be interacting with English-speaking coworkers.
