Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help design, build, and scale AI infrastructure used by millions of people. This fully remote contract role offers substantial autonomy and the chance to work with leading researchers and engineers.

You will join a globally distributed team, contribute to production-grade pipelines, and own meaningful components from design through deployment. 20–40 hours per week, hourly rate, flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in at least one modern language (Python/TypeScript/Go/Java).
• Strong understanding of architecture, design patterns, and system design.
• Experience with backend services, APIs, or data-intensive apps.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production-grade software systems for AI pipelines.
• Write clean, well-tested code in Python/TypeScript or similar.
• Build and optimize APIs, data pipelines, and backend services at scale.
• Architect solutions balancing delivery speed and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate asynchronously with ML engineers, researchers, and PMs.
• Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
• Work independently on well-scoped projects with ownership.
