Prometeo Talent is partnering with a US-based cybersecurity startup to hire a Senior Backend Engineer / AI RISK ENGINEER. This 100% remote role supports LATAM-based work and focuses on designing and building scalable backend services using Java and Python, with AI-assisted workflows to boost delivery quality.

You will own features end-to-end, shape architecture, and collaborate with a fast-moving team to improve performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software or backend development experience.
• 5+ years of professional Python experience building production-grade backends.
• Strong Java experience.
• Hands-on AI/LLM-based development experience.
• Experience building AI-driven features in production environments.
• Understanding of distributed systems and asynchronous processing.
• Experience with databases, message queues, and data pipelines.
• Docker and Kubernetes in production.
• Ownership mindset in startup or fast-paced environments.
• Advanced English level.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Python.
• Develop distributed systems with databases, APIs, queues, and pipelines.
• Own features from design through monitoring and optimization.
• Build production-ready systems with reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate requirements.
