Prometeo Talent is partnering with a US-based cybersecurity startup to hire an AI Risk Engineer. This Senior Backend Engineer will design, build and maintain scalable distributed systems using Java, Python, and AI-augmented workflows.

You'll own features end-to-end, work with a fast-moving team, and contribute to product evolution. This role is 100% remote with LATAM flexibility and offers a strong ownership culture and modern tooling.

Formación

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering or backend development.
• 5+ years of professional experience with Python, building and maintaining production-grade backend systems.
• Strong experience with Java.
• Hands-on experience with AI/LLM-based application development (AI agents, agentic systems, or LLM-powered applications)
• Experience building AI-driven features, LLM integrations, or agentic workflows in production environments is highly preferred.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, scalable architectures, and asynchronous processing.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Python.
• Develop distributed systems involving databases, APIs, message queues, and data processing pipelines.
• Take full ownership of features and services throughout their lifecycle, from design and implementation to monitoring and optimization.
• Build production-ready systems with a strong focus on reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Improve system performance, scalability, and operational efficiency across the platform.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while ensuring code quality and engineering best practices.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to key technical decisions as the company scales.
• Continuously improve development processes, tooling, and engineering standards.
