AgileEngine is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design and build agentic workflows and AI-powered products for enterprise customers in higher education. You will lead the development of agent orchestration, tool use, and memory management across production-grade systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a software product development environment.
• Strong Java and Spring Boot proficiency.
• Experience with relational databases.
• Hands-on experience building AI agents or orchestrated workflows.
• Agent-enabled coding tools across planning to production.
• Senior-level experience building production software systems.
• TypeScript, Python, RESTful APIs, and AWS.
• Experience with APIs, workflow engines, event-driven architectures, integrations, or distributed systems.
• Strong testing, observability, security, permissions, and failure recovery.
• Ability to turn ambiguous opportunities into practical technical solutions.
• Strong communication and leadership across teams.
• Experience in enterprise SaaS or multi-tenant systems.
• Leadership mindset to drive changes.

Responsibilities

• Design and build agentic workflows coordinating tools, data, and human approvals.
• Develop reusable patterns for agent orchestration and multi-agent collaboration.
• Use AI coding agents throughout planning, implementation, and testing.
• Integrate agents into development, testing, deployment, and support workflows.
• Establish standards for evaluation, observability, reliability, security, governance.
• Prototype and productionize successful agent experiments.
• Create complete, production-ready products, not just demos.
• Improve engineering productivity via agentic development.
• Mentor engineers and shape an agentic-first strategy.
• Collaborate with leaders to tie agentic capabilities to outcomes.
• Review, test, and secure agent-generated code with verification.
• Decompose complex work into agent-ready tasks with architectural consistency.
• Create workflows where agents reason, call APIs, manage state, recover from failures.
• Design agentic apps around real user needs with secure workflows and audit trails.
• Move from prototype to production addressing performance, security, and maintenance.
• Understand problems deeply and deliver dependable solutions.
