AgileEngine, LLC. seeks a Senior AI Engineer to design agentic workflows and AI-powered products for enterprise customers in higher education.

You will lead the development of agent orchestration patterns, tool use, and context management, collaborating across teams to deliver production-ready solutions. You will prototype new capabilities, ensure robust observability and security, and mentor engineers on building enterprise SaaS systems with a strong focus on real user needs and scalable

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a software product development environment.
• Strong proficiency with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with relational databases.
• Hands-on experience building AI agents or orchestrated workflows.
• Experience using agents to support coding, testing, or release management.
• Senior-level experience building and operating production software systems.
• Experience with TypeScript, Python, RESTful APIs, and AWS.
• Experience with APIs, workflow engines, or distributed systems.
• Strong testing, observability, security, and error handling knowledge.
• Ability to turn ambiguous opportunities into practical technical solutions.
• Strong communication skills and influence across teams.
• Experience building enterprise SaaS or multi-tenant systems.
• Leadership mindset to drive changes across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and build agentic workflows that coordinate tools, services, data, and human approvals.
• Develop reusable patterns for agent orchestration and context management.
• Use AI coding agents across the development lifecycle: planning, implementation, testing, debugging.
• Integrate agents into development, testing, deployment, and operations workflows.
• Establish standards for evaluation, observability, reliability, security, and governance.
• Prototype new capabilities and turn experiments into production systems.
• Deliver complete products, not just demos of model integrations.
• Identify ways to boost engineering productivity and product delivery with agentic development.
• Mentor engineers and shape agentic-first strategy across the org.
• Collaborate with product/engineering leaders to align capabilities with outcomes.
• Review and secure agent-generated code with proper verification.
• Decompose work into agent-ready tasks while maintaining architecture.
