Avenga is seeking a senior backend engineer in Argentina to design, develop, and operate high-scale microservices for payment platforms. You will work with Java, build robust REST APIs, and own end-to-end delivery from design to production while leveraging cloud-native architectures on AWS.

You will collaborate with specialists to improve code quality, drive architectural initiatives, and integrate AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and innovation in a fintech environment.

Formación

• 6+ years of proven Java backend experience and scalable systems.
• Experience with deployments, CI/CD, and microservices.
• Strong REST API design and high-availability, low-latency systems.
• Experience with payment systems (acquirers/issuers) is a plus.

In your role, you'll become a vital member of a team of skilled professionals dedicated to building low-latency distributed systems and optimizing critical payment rails. Your primary responsibility will involve designing robust microservices, mastering cloud integrations, continuously improving code quality, and driving architectural initiatives with strong ownership. This is you

• 6+ years of strong experience working with Java and building resilient backend services.
• Background in deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and microservices, both with and without containers.
• Solid experience developing high-availability, low-latency systems and designing robust REST APIs.
• Practical, hands-on knowledge of payment systems, with a strong focus on acquiring or issuing domains.
• Proficient working with AWS cloud infrastructure, including tools like Lambda, EKS, ECS, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, DynamoDB, and API Gateway.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and integration patterns.
• Active adopter of AI agents and development assistants used daily for designing, generating, and continuously improving code quality.

Nice-to-have skills:

• Previous experience working in promotional environments or within acquirer processors.
• Familiarity with AWS tools like CloudWatch and DMS.

• Drive engineering excellence by incorporating advanced AI-assisted development tools into your daily workflow.
