Job summary

Western Union in Argentina is seeking a Settlement Accounting Analyst to design, record, analyze, and reconcile financial transactions within the Settlement function. You will support month-end and year-end closing and ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, at least 3 years of account analysis experience, advanced Excel, and English proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field; students in final stages or recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in account analysis, reconciliations, auditing, or related accounting functions.
• Intermediate English proficiency (written and verbal).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with databases, Oracle, JD Edwards, macros, and AI tools is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily accounting entries related to banks, cash transportation companies, payment processors, intercompany accounts, and other financial operations.
• Monitor and validate daily accounting postings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare, analyze, and reconcile balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving outstanding items in a timely manner.
• Produce high-quality weekly and monthly reports and ensure all reconciliation and reporting deadlines are met.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes by providing accurate and timely financial information.
• Maintain strong collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure effective service delivery and issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, SOX requirements, and internal/external audit standards.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency, standardization, and automation within the Settlement function.
• Contribute to projects that impact Settlement operations and support the implementation of new processes and controls.

This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial information, supports month-end and year-end closing activities, maintains compliance with internal and external audit requirements, and contributes to the continuous improvement of operational processes.
