Job summary

ASAPP, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Staff Cloud Security Engineer to design, test, and strengthen security across a cloud-native distributed platform on AWS.

You will partner with senior engineers to drive architecture, detection, and response at scale, while communicating clearly with customers. You will own security architecture, threats, and defenses, and help mature our AI-driven solutions across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in cloud security, application security, and security architecture.
• Experience building detection engineering and SIEM/SOAR pipelines.
• Hands-on Kubernetes security in production environments.
• AI security with practical mitigation for modern AI systems.
• Deep technical skills from architecture to code, config, and logs.
• Excellent communication with customers and engineers alike.

Responsibilities

• Own cloud, application, and zero-trust security architecture for AWS-based microservices.
• Threat model AI-specific risks and implement practical mitigations.
• Build and scale detection pipelines across cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes.
• Lead incident response with automated playbooks and tabletop exercises.
• Secure the SDLC with CI/CD, container security, and vulnerability management.
• Perform threat modeling and architecture reviews on distributed systems.
• Explain security controls to customers during technical deep-dives.
