Moritz, a fast-growing AI-native global law firm, seeks a senior real estate lawyer to act as co-counsel on Peru matters, handling leases, sale and purchase agreements, and development agreements for a global client base.

You will lead drafting, review, and negotiations, run title reviews and due diligence, and advise on financing and landlord-tenant issues, aligning with Moritz's high-speed, high-clarity standards.

The Role

• Serve as co-counsel for Moritz's real estate work in Peru: commercial leases, sale and purchase agreements, real estate aspects of corporate transactions, and development and construction agreements.
• Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of leases and property transaction documents for clients ranging from startups taking their first office to enterprises managing property portfolios.
• Run title review and property due diligence, including for real estate elements of M&A and financing transactions.
• Advise on real estate financing and security, planning and zoning questions, and landlord-tenant matters.
• If you accept work with a known SLA (ex: 24hr turnaround), you must commit to meeting that SLA.

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years practising commercial real estate law in private practice or in-house.
• Leasing depth. Office, retail, industrial, and flexible-space leases — rent review, service charges, repair obligations, break options, and assignments.
• Transactional experience. Sale and purchase agreements, title review and due diligence, conditions, and completion mechanics.
• Financing familiarity. Mortgages, security packages, and the real estate workstreams of corporate deals.
• Practical judgment. You separate the points that protect the client from the points that stall the deal.
• Qualifications. Active license and in good standing with the bar / law society of Peru. Professional indemnity insurance maintained or willing to obtain in line with local requirements.
• Bring speed and clarity to real estate transactions traditionally slowed by process.

Our platform is web-based — all you need to access your Moritz matters and conduct negotiations is a reliable internet connection and word processing software. Any device you use to access the platform must meet our security requirements, which we will share during onboarding.

Am I employed by Moritz when I join the network?

No. Moritz does not employ the lawyers in its co-counsel network. Moritz is a law firm and engages clients directly; co-counsel are engaged by Moritz on an independent contractor basis to support those client matters under Moritz's supervision and quality standards. Moritz handles client intake, billing, conflicts checks, and matter management, so you can focus on the legal work.
