TransPerfect is seeking a remote freelance Language Lead to translate and proofread Life Science documents from English into Simplified Chinese (China). You will interact with clients and project managers, ensure quality, and coordinate a team of linguists.

The role combines linguistic delivery with quality management, asset management (TMs, glossaries, style guides), and client engagement. You will mentor linguists, handle feedback, and ensure timely, accurate results for diverse global clients.

Competenze

• Hold a degree in Translation, Linguistics, or Language Studies or an equivalent program with significant translation training from a recognized university;
• Have 2 years of professional translation experience plus a college degree;
• Have 5 years of professional translation experience without a college degree; OR
• Possess a translation competence certificate issued by an appropriate government authority.

Mansioni

• Act as a client-facing linguistic point of contact, representing TransPerfect with professionalism.
• Review and investigate client complaints and quality-related issues, determine root causes, and provide timely, well-documented responses and corrective actions.
• Maintain language quality standards across projects and accounts.
• Manage language assets, including translation memories (TMs), glossaries, and style guides, ensuring they are accurate, consistent, and up to date.
• Work closely with Project Managers to understand project requirements, scope, timelines, and client expectations.
• Gather and relay client feedback, and incorporate it into ongoing and future work.
• Manage and guide a group of linguists, including assigning work, providing feedback, and ensuring adherence to client requirements and quality standards.
• Translate and proofread Life Science documents, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with client and regulatory terminology.
