Job summary

TransPerfect is seeking a Language Lead to translate and proofread Life Science documents from English into Simplified Chinese (China) for a global client base. This is a remote freelance position coordinating with project managers and a team of linguists to ensure top quality.

You will manage client communications, handle feedback, maintain TMs and style guides, and ensure regulatory terminology consistency across projects. Prior lead/QA experience and CAT tool proficiency are preferred.

Qualifications

• Hold a degree in Translation, Linguistics, Language Studies or equivalent with significant translation training.
• 2 years of translation experience and a college degree.
• 5 years of translation experience and no college degree.
• Certificate of competence in translation issued by a government body.

Responsibilities

• Act as a client-facing linguistic point of contact with professionalism.
• Review client complaints and provide timely corrective actions.
• Maintain language quality standards across projects and accounts.
• Manage language assets (TMs, glossaries, style guides) for accuracy and consistency.
• Translate and proofread Life Science documents ensuring regulatory terminology accuracy.
