Job summary

Political Asylum Lawyers is seeking an Accounting & Finance Manager (Hands-on) to lead the firm’s financial operations, oversee accounting systems, billing, AR/AP, payroll, and trust accounting, while supporting budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning. This is a hands-on role focused on building reliable processes and controls.

You will ensure accurate financial reporting, manage cash flow, and work with leadership to optimize profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting or finance experience in a service-based business preferred.
• Experience with trust/IOLTA accounting and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day financial operations including accounting, billing, accounts receivable/payable, payroll, trust accounting, tax coordination, and general ledger upkeep.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and key reports.
• Develop budgets and forecasts, provide variance analysis and business insights.
• Oversee billing, collections, and client payment plans; monitor AR aging.
• Maintain internal controls and support audits, tax filings, and financial reviews.
• Assist leadership with pricing decisions, cash flow planning, and strategic finance initiatives.
