Job summary

Chainlink Labs is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to own the reliability and performance of large-scale streaming and data infrastructure. The role emphasizes production Kubernetes workloads, scalability, and repeatable deployment practices to empower engineering teams.

You will strengthen streaming pipelines (Flink, Kafka/Redpanda), manage infrastructure as code with Terraform, and align data services with product needs while maintaining high availability and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating large-scale distributed systems with streaming data.
• Deep expertise in Apache Flink, Redpanda/Kafka, Iceberg, PostgreSQL, Airflow, or Trino.
• Experience deploying, operating, and troubleshooting production Kubernetes workloads.
• Experience building reusable infrastructure modules, self-service capabilities, and CI/CD workflows.

Responsibilities

• Enable critical product initiatives to launch on time with streaming and data infrastructure.
• Maintain 99.9% availability for critical data infrastructure as usage grows.
• Reduce recurring incidents through automation, alerts, and recover procedures.
• Connect Redpanda topic traffic, Flink processing and BigQuery usage to consuming teams.
• Build Terraform modules and deployment workflows for AWS and Kubernetes resources.
• Identify consumers of each infrastructure service and which product outcomes depend on it.
