Job summary

Talan is seeking an experienced Backend Developer with strong Apache Spark and Scala expertise to develop and maintain backend solutions, collaborating in the squad to deliver high-quality software throughout the full development lifecycle.

You will analyse and implement user stories and technical requirements, develop and maintain backend solutions using Apache Spark and Scala, and participate in testing and production validation.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of professional experience developing with Apache Spark and Scala.
• Solid experience with PL/SQL.
• Experience working with Control-M.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Good understanding of software development best practices, testing and production support.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and implement user stories and technical requirements.
• Develop and maintain backend solutions using Apache Spark and Scala.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from development through to testing and production validation.
• Develop and execute unit and integration tests to ensure the quality and reliability of the solutions.
• Collaborate with other members of the Agile squad to deliver solutions within agreed timelines.
• Support production validation and deployment activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues when required.
• Work according to Agile methodologies, actively participating in the team's ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives.
