Job summary

Prometeo Talent is partnering with a fast-growing US-based cybersecurity startup to hire a Senior Backend Engineer. You will design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Python, and enable AI-assisted development workflows in a distributed, production environment.

You will own features end-to-end, collaborate with a highly technical team, and contribute to architectural decisions while thriving in a startup culture.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software or backend development.
• 5+ years of Python production backend experience.
• Strong Java experience.
• Hands-on AI/LLM‑based application development in production.
• Experience with distributed systems and asynchronous processing.
• Experience with databases, message queues, and data pipelines.
• Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
• Advanced English level.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Python.
• Develop distributed systems with databases, APIs, queues, and data pipelines.
• Own features from design through deployment and optimization.
• Build production-ready systems focusing on reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate requirements.
