Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• 1-2 years of experience in ocean transportation preferred.
• Knowledge of refrigerated transportation preferred.
• Pro-active, positive, energetic, and able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Interact with surface transportation vendors, manage trucking capacity and assign them to loads.
• Work with Operations and Sales to identify timelines for future shipments.
• Identify best routing for shipment execution based on readiness, freezer appointments and carrier availability.
• Address daily tactical issues with internal customers and transportation vendors.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and performance and propose positive changes.
• Identify core business and key destinations for each transportation vendor to optimize matches.
• Handle rate requests, negotiations and management with ocean carriers, rail, trucking and drayage providers.
