Avatria is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to join its Services team. You will design and execute manual tests and develop robust automated test suites to ensure quality and performance of Commerce and Content systems for customers.

Ideal candidates have experience with Selenium, Playwright or Cypress, API testing with Postman, and strong collaboration with product and development teams to embed quality practices across the SDLC.

The Role:

Avatriais looking for a QA Automation Engineer to join our Services team. As a QA Automation Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability and performance of Commerce and Content systems for our customers. This involves designing and executing manual test cases, as well as developing and maintaining automated test suites. You are an ideal candidate if you are passionate about quality assurance, test automation, problem-solving and enjoy working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

We want someone that can:

• Perform thorough manual testing (functional, regression and smoke) and accurately document test results and test coverage metrics
• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable automated test scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks
• Accurately identify, log, prioritize, and track defects to provide clear and concise reports to the development team
• Work closely and proactively with development, product, and business teams to understand requirements and embed quality practices throughout the SDLC

Must have:

• Professional experience in software quality assurance for enterprise-level applications
• Proficient with test automation frameworks (e.g. Selenium, Playwright, Cypress)
• Expertise in API testing using tools like Postman or REST
• Experience with responsive and native mobile application testing (iOS and Android)
• Familiarity with test management tools (e.g. Jira, Azure DevOps, ALM) for planning and tracking
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Nice to have:

• Strong understanding of the entire SDLC and methodologies (Agile/Scrum)
• Experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) for test execution
• Knowledge of database querying (SQL) for data validation in back-end testing
• Experience in the Digital Commerce or Content Management domain
• Experience with Commerce platforms such as SAP Commerce, Adobe Commerce, Shopify, commercetools and BigCommerce
• Experience with Content Management platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager, Contentful and Builder.io

About the Role

What You Will Do

• Build regression automation scripts that support app functionality.
• Manually test software for validation and accuracy based on defined set of criteria.
• Execute smoke, regression, integration, performance and other testing types to ensure proper behavior of software.
• Record detailed documentation of feature behavior.
• Record pass/fails conditions of tests and correlate failures to bug identification.
• Identify and elevate any risk to quality of the product or the process.
• Collaborate with the product team to ensure quality throughout the SDLC and product release cycles.
• Collaborate with customer-facing teams to incorporate user feedback in the testing strategy.
• Participate in refinement and estimations of effort to promote accurate planning.
• Utilize GitHub to maintain automation repositories, run custom scripts, and facilitate automated quality practices.
• Participate in On-Call rotation.

MUST HAVES

• 3+ years of experience in a software quality assurance role
• 3+ years of experience in automated testing
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Possess a mindset focused on holistic quality
• Experience writing and working with Gherkin for behavior-driven development
• Experience with prompt engineering and harness engineering
• Experience building Agentic skills focused on Quality Engineering

NICE TO HAVES

• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jest, Playwright, Postman, JMeter or any other object-oriented based automated testing framework.
• Experience with testing support functionalities such as GitHub Actions, LambdaTest, SendGrid, Datadog, PagerDuty.
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails and backend development.
• Understanding of quality management systems and quality control processes.
• Background in data-based testing and/or security-based testing.
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other relevant experience.
