Job summary

Chevron Corporation seeks a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) – Automation & Observability in Buenos Aires. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and operating reliability capabilities across OT/PCN environments, with emphasis on automation, observability, and SRE practices.

You will partner with product owners and platform teams to enforce SLIs/SLOs, build scalable dashboards, and drive incident response improvements. Collaboration with global teams and vendors is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience operating production systems with a focus on observability and reliability engineering.
• Hands-on experience with SRE practices (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, incident management).
• Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps).
• Experience integrating monitoring and operations with ServiceNow ITSM workflows.
• Strong scripting skills in Python and/or PowerShell.
• Solid understanding of observability concepts (metrics, logs, traces, alerting, correlation).
• Experience in OT/PCN environments and working with global teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement SRE practices, including SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets to improve service reliability.
• Build and standardize observability capabilities across metrics, logs, and traces, with dashboards and alerts.
• Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and postmortems for continuous improvement.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps) to automate deployment and validation.
• Integrate monitoring signals with ServiceNow ITSM (incidents, changes).
• Design reusable automation components to scale use cases.
• Operate in OT/PCN environments with security and compliance in mind.
• Leverage telemetry from infrastructure and compliance platforms to improve visibility.
• Collaborate with product owners and vendor partners in Agile settings.
• Produce and maintain runbooks, diagrams, and operational guides.
