Job summary

EPAM Systems seeks a Lead UI Artist to shape the visual language of our digital products. You’ll collaborate with designers and engineers to deliver polished visuals across PC, console, and mobile, driving a cohesive UI theme from concept to delivery.

You’ll lead and mentor a small team, own UI systems, textures, and materials in Unreal Engine 5 (UMG, Slate, Material Editor), ensuring typography, layout, and accessibility meet high standards while aligning with project timelines.

Qualifications

• Five-plus years of practical, relevant experience as a UI Artist or in a comparable art specialty, preferably within gaming.
• A minimum of one year spent leading and managing teams.
• A portfolio demonstrating capability in UI/UX visual design, texturing, and icon development.
• Hands-on experience developing and styling UI inside Unreal Engine 5, spanning UMG, Slate, and the Material Editor.
• Strong fluency with industry-standard art and design tools.
• Solid understanding of texture optimization, atlasing, and performance factors tied to real-time UI.
• Attention to typography, layout composition, structural balance, and visual hierarchy.
• History of driving a UI theme or visual system from concept to final delivery.
• Excellent teamwork and communication, English fluency at B2 level or higher.

Responsibilities

• Convert UX wireframes into refined, high-fidelity mockups, interactive prototypes, design systems, and style guides using tools like Figma, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Realize final artwork within Unreal Editor, including UMG configuration, widget animation, and material development.
• Build unified design systems covering game menus, HUD elements, iconography, UI materials and shaders, plus UI animation and motion design.
• Create fresh material effects, 2D and animated visual effects, plus basic Blueprint logic implementation.
• Adjust UI assets to run well across PC, console, and mobile devices while maintaining visual quality, accessibility, and localization readiness.
• Keep UI asset libraries and style guide materials well-organized and up to date.
