EPAM Systems is seeking a Lead Java Server-side Engineer in Argentina to drive a Backend-for-Frontend service layer powering high-traffic mobile products. You will collaborate with engineers, product partners, designers, and QA to ship reliable APIs, optimize legacy integrations, and maintain high performance.

You will architect the BFF layer, implement REST endpoints, and modernize legacy code while ensuring strong unit test coverage and efficient deployments.

Formación

• Extensive background in Java server-side development (5+ years).
• Strong collaboration skills in senior-level, cross-functional environments.
• Proven strength in designing solutions for loosely constrained problems.
• Expert-level Spring Boot experience maintaining services.
• High proficiency in REST API development including legacy services.
• Deep understanding of algorithms and data structures for efficient code.
• Consistent unit testing with a test-driven approach.
• Experience with build tools and CI workflows.
• Performance profiling and optimization for backend services.
• Strong debugging and production incident troubleshooting.
• Ownership mindset with proactive communication.
• B2 English for effective communication.

Responsabilidades

• Architect and build the Backend-for-Frontend API layer used by mobile apps.
• Implement REST endpoints and service contracts aligned to mobile flows.
• Optimize backend performance via profiling and targeted improvements.
• Modernize legacy code to improve reliability and readability.
• Write clean, testable code with strong unit test coverage.
• Integrate with existing backend services and manage legacy dependencies.
• Diagnose defects, identify root causes, release safe patches quickly.
• Collaborate with engineers, product partners, designers, and QA to ship features end-to-end.
• Contribute to CI workflows and strengthen build tooling.
• Influence API and data design decisions to improve user experience.
• Reduce code debt by removing redundant code and keeping the codebase healthy.
