Cowboy Space Corp. in San Carlos, CA, seeks an Embedded Software Engineering Lead to guide the embedded software team responsible for flight-critical systems across satellite control, power beaming, and ground receivers.

You will mentor engineers, set development standards, drive architecture and reviews, and ensure robust software practices for our space-based power transmission platform. Requires leadership in aerospace embedded software and strong C/C++, Rust skills.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years as embedded software engineer, including aerospace/satellite experience.
• 2+ years leading an embedded software team.
• Proficiency in C, C++, and/or Rust for embedded systems.
• Experience with bare-metal embedded software and flight-critical systems.

Responsabilidades

• Lead embedded software team developing flight-critical and avionics systems.
• Plan firmware releases, manage sprints, and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Design fault-tolerant, high-performance flight software architectures.
• Develop and test onboard control, data processing, and laser power transmission software.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers for integration with spacecraft avionics and sensors.
• Create SITL and HITL environments for software validation.
