Job summary

Bechtel is seeking an Environmental Permitting Specialist in Argentina to manage obtaining and monitoring environmental permits for major mining, energy or infrastructure projects. You will define baselines, supervise consultants, and ensure regulatory compliance across the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities include coordinating with provincial and national authorities, maintaining auditable permit records and applying Argentine environmental standards.

Qualifications

• University degree in Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Natural Resources, Geological Sciences or Biological Sciences.
• Professional registration and 5–8 years in environmental management and permits, with 3 years in mining, energy or infrastructure projects in Argentina.
• Advanced or graduate degree in environmental management/impact assessment or environmental law is desirable.
• Experience in EPC/EPCM environments and familiarity with Argentine environmental regime are advantageous.
• Spanish native with intermediate or higher technical English; ability to engage with multinational teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage obtaining, maintenance and monitoring of environmental permits for the project in Argentina.
• Define the scope of environmental baselines and supervise consultants for air quality, noise, water, soils, flora and fauna.
• Review and ensure regulatory compliance, coordinate with authorities, and maintain auditable documentation.
