Elementary Learning Assistant
Lincoln School is seeking a full-time Elementary Learning Assistant to join our Elementary School team beginning in February 2027.
Position Summary
The Elementary Learning Assistant supports student learning both directly and indirectly through instructional support, assessment, material preparation, and organization. Working collaboratively with teachers and other members of the school community, the Learning Assistant helps create an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment where all students can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting Learning and Instruction
- Support classroom instruction and student learning through direct and indirect instructional support.
Fostering Inclusive Learning Communities
- Contribute to an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
Assessment and Learning Resources
- Assist with assessment, preparation of learning materials, and classroom organization.
Monitoring and Follow-Up
- Monitor student needs and learning progress and communicate relevant observations to teachers.
Student Support and Family Partnership
- Support positive relationships with students and contribute to effective communication with families when appropriate.
Professional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with teachers and other members of the school community and respond effectively to direction from multiple supervisors.
Education
- Undergraduate degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification.
Languages
- Fluency in both Spanish and English.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
Experience
- Previous classroom or educational experience preferred.
- Experience working collaboratively with people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
- Ability to build positive and respectful relationships with students and colleagues.
- Ability to effectively respond to direction and collaborate with multiple supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Experience supporting student learning in an educational setting.
