Job summary

Go Kids is seeking a Substitute Teacher Assistant for School Age groups to support teachers in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities. The role focuses on supervision, positive interactions, and helping children develop social-emotional skills in a classroom setting.

Responsibilities include assisting with curriculum, maintaining a safe, clean environment, preparing healthy snacks, and collaborating with the Master Teacher and Site Supervisor to meet each child's goals.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have 6 units ECE/CD.
• Assistant Permit required or ability to apply within 90 days of hire.
• Fingerprints, criminal record clearance and child abuse index check required.
• Current pediatric CPR and first aid certification required.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities for children.
• Establish a climate of respect for each child's individual personality, physical characteristics, traits, culture, language and family structure.
• Relate to all children in encouraging and positive ways.
• Interact daily with each child and support their learning process.
• Assist in developing problem solving skills and social-emotional development.
• Model pro-social behaviors and teach children to be responsible for their actions.
• Provide support to Teacher/Master Teacher and maintain DRDP/Portfolio for each child.
• Prepare healthy snacks for children as necessary.
