Job summary

GoFundMe is hiring a Staff Data Engineer, Accounting in Buenos Aires. You will own the data pipelines and models powering Accounting and Finance reporting, ensuring complete, timely, and auditable data across source systems, Snowflake, and NetSuite.

Collaborate with Analytics to translate requirements into durable data products, and use AI-assisted tooling to accelerate delivery while maintaining accuracy and security.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering or a related technical field.
• Experience designing and operating production-grade data pipelines and platforms, ideally in finance, fintech, banking, or payments.
• Experience working with transaction-level financial data, reconciliation processes, or financial systems in audit-driven or regulated environments.
• Demonstrated ability to own complex technical domains end to end with minimal direction.
• Experience supporting enterprise scaling, SOX readiness, external audits, IPO preparation, or regulatory reporting is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Build the data engineering foundation for Accounting: Own pipelines, transformations, and systems powering Accounting and Finance reporting; ensure data is complete, timely, accurate, and traceable from source through reporting and reconciliation workflows.
• Partner with Analytics for Accounting: Translate requirements into durable data products; enable analysts to own reporting and business-facing layers.
• Use AI to increase engineering impact: Integrate AI-assisted tools to accelerate prototyping, testing, debugging, data investigation, and documentation while maintaining accuracy and security.
• Enable compliance-driven platform requirements: Build data capabilities for regulatory reporting; automate and audit-ready pipelines; collaborate with Accounting, Tax, Compliance, Payments, Legal, and Engineering.
• Support financial reporting and audit readiness: Ensure lineage, documentation, controls, and evidence for internal and external audits.
• Strengthen transaction-level reconciliation: Build systems for reconciliation across payment processors, internal systems, ledger, and NetSuite; monitor for missing or inconsistent data.
• Own data integrity across financial systems: Monitor data movement across source systems, payments, ledger, Snowflake, and NetSuite; use AI-assisted investigation when appropriate.
• Establish engineering standards for financial data: Define practices for pipelines, models, testing, monitoring, and maintenance; ensure durability and scalability.
• Improve data reliability and observability: Implement automated testing, alerting, lineage, and monitoring for critical datasets.
