Job summary

Sezzle is seeking a detail-oriented Compliance Intern to support the Compliance Team. This role translates regulatory requirements into practical guidance, performs operational reviews, and produces governance-ready documentation. It reinforces adherence to regulations and supports policy development across the organization.

The position focuses on advisory work, documentation, and collaboration with stakeholders to strengthen controls and integrity throughout the business.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks applicable to consumer financial products.
• Experience in compliance operations, risk management or quality assurance.
• Strong written communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities.
• High integrity and ethical judgment with proactive stance.

Responsibilities

• Provide second-line compliance advisory to business partners on consumer finance and payments.
• Track and document compliance guidance, decisions and follow-ups.
• Conduct oversight reviews of complaint handling and escalation processes.
• Maintain issue logs, validate remediation plans and monitor aging.
• Review marketing and customer communications for compliance disclosures.
• Assist product development compliance assessments and risk tracking.
• Coordinate third-party compliance activities and due diligence.
• Prepare governance memos and leadership summaries with metrics.
• Support regulatory reviews, audits, or supervisory events.
• Participate in change management oversight for compliance readiness.
• Support additional compliance initiatives as assigned.
