Glencore Copper SAOP is seeking a senior Civil Construction Leader for the Coroccohuayco Project in Peru. You will lead civil works and ensure integration between engineering, EPCM teams, and contractors.

The role emphasizes constructability, safety, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will demonstrate extensive experience in earthworks and concrete works on large mining facilities, with strong English and Spanish communication skills.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in large-scale earthworks and concrete construction.
• Experience with Owner’s Teams, EPCM, or EPC contractors.
• Experience in greenfield and brownfield projects is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction methodologies, earthworks, and concrete works.
• Advanced English and fluent Spanish communication skills.

Responsabilidades

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in large-scale earthworks and concrete construction for medium to mega projects, preferably within the mining, industrial, or natural resources sectors.
• Experience working within Owner’s Teams, EPCM organizations, or EPC contractors.
• Experience in both greenfield and brownfield projects is highly desirable.
• Strong technical knowledge of civil construction methodologies, earthworks, and concrete works.
• Knowledge of risk management and constructability practices.
• Advanced English and fluent Spanish communication skills.

Main Purpose of the Role

Lead and provide technical oversight for all civil construction activities within the Coroccohuayco Project, ensuring effective integration between engineering, construction, EPCM, contractors, and the Owner’s Team. The position is responsible for promoting construction best practices, constructability reviews, and effective construction management throughout the project lifecycle, while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives. The role also ensures the successful execution of earthworks and concrete works and the effective handover of completed facilities to operations and other project stakeholders.

Operating Context

The Coroccohuayco Project is a strategic expansion of the Tintaya-Antapaccay mining complex, involving both brownfield and greenfield development activities. Working under the direction of the Construction Manager, this position contributes to the implementation of construction best practices, multidisciplinary coordination, and optimization of civil construction execution. The role interfaces closely with engineering, operations, contractors, and support functions to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and specialized oversight for civil construction activities within the Coroccohuayco Project.

• Ensure compliance with project safety standards, housekeeping requirements, fire protection measures, and the zero-injury philosophy.
• Monitor and support EPCM contractors and construction contractors to remove execution constraints affecting schedule, cost, or productivity.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, and support functions to optimize construction sequencing and execution methodologies.
• Promote innovation and continuous improvement in construction practices to reduce risk and improve capital efficiency.
• Develop and recommend construction procedures to ensure work is executed in accordance with engineering designs and project specifications.
• Provide training, coaching, and guidance to project personnel, contractors, and consultants on constructability reviews and construction management requirements.
• Support the Construction Manager in the overall execution of civil works, including site supervision, contract administration, cost control, schedule management, and resource coordination.
• Implement earthworks and civil construction execution strategies aligned with project governance requirements and industry best practices.
