Job summary

ContentJet is a remote, international marketing company with teams worldwide. We seek a Bookkeeper / Accounting Operations Specialist to own day-to-day accounting and report to the CEO. You’ll work with external accountants and improve current processes.

This isn’t data-entry; you’ll investigate discrepancies, ensure invoices match payments, and flag any variances in P&L.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional bookkeeping experience.

Responsibilities

• Accounts receivable & invoicing: create and send client invoices; track payments; reconcile payments.
• Accounts payable & payments: collect supplier invoices; prepare payment batches; record payments in QuickBooks.
• Month-end & reporting: prepare P&L, Balance Sheet, and cash flow reports for leadership.

Job description

ContentJet is a creative and performance marketing company that works with clients and creators around the world. We’re a remote, international team of about 60 people across the Americas, Europe and Asia, with entities in Canada and the UAE.

We’re looking for a Bookkeeper / Accounting Operations Specialist to take full ownership of our day-to-day accounting. You’ll report directly to our CEO and work alongside our external accountants. You’ll also have real room to improve how we do things.

This isn’t a data-entry role. If an invoice is missing, you’ll notice. If a payment doesn’t match, you’ll investigate. If the P&L looks off compared with last month, you’ll flag it.

Responsibilities:

Accounts receivable & invoicing

• Create and send client invoices and keep an accurate invoice registry
• Track outstanding payments and follow up professionally with clients
• Match and reconcile payments received through bank accounts, Stripe and other methods
• Keep management updated on late and outstanding payments

Accounts payable & payments

• Collect and verify invoices from contractors, creators, influencers and suppliers
• Prepare payment batches for management approval and track upcoming obligations
• Make sure every payment is properly recorded in QuickBooks
• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online for our Canadian and UAE entities, including intercompany transactions
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and Stripe
• Spot discrepancies and get to the bottom of them

Month-end & reporting

• Prepare the P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, AR/AP reports and a monthly performance summary for leadership

Experience

• 3+ years of professional bookkeeping experience
• Hands-on experience with AR, AP, client invoicing and bank and credit-card reconciliations
• Experience preparing a monthly P&L and Balance Sheet
• Comfort working across multiple companies, currencies and bank accounts
• Very good written and spoken English (it’s our official working language)
• A proactive, ownership mindset: you ask questions when something doesn’t add up
• Bookkeeping for Canadian companies, or familiarity with UAE bookkeeping or VAT
• Multi-entity or multi-currency accounting
• Background at an agency or professional services firm
• Working directly with external accountants or CPAs
