The UNODC Programme Office in Argentina (POARG), part of the Andean and Southern Cone Regional Office, implements national and regional projects. This role supports projects strengthening capacities of law enforcement and justice agencies in implementing international conventions.
The Senior Administrative Assistant provides crucial operational support for the timely implementation of project activities. This involves managing administrative, financial, and logistical aspects, including budget monitoring, event and mission organization, document management, and report preparation. The role ensures adherence to applicable United Nations procedures, contributing to the effective execution of project objectives and commitments to stakeholders and the Regional Office.
Provide comprehensive administrative, operational, and budgetary support for project activities, ensuring timely achievement of objectives. Monitor and follow up on planning, implementation, and closure of administrative and financial processes. Support the planning, control, and tracking of project activities, contributing to commitments with counterparts and donors. Oversee technical, administrative, and financial execution, managing budgets, deadlines, and risks. Maintain updated databases, systems, and records for administrative and financial information. Prepare, organize, and archive documentation for audits and reporting. Support the planning and execution of meetings, workshops, and missions, managing travel, logistics, and vendor relations. Assist with procurement, asset management, and inventory control. Contribute to knowledge sharing and process improvement initiatives.
Required: Completed secondary education with at least 5 years of relevant experience, OR a Bachelor's degree in administration, economics, accounting, finance, project management, or related fields with at least 1 year of relevant experience. Desired: Technical, tertiary, or professional certification in administration, accounting, finance, or related areas.
Required: Relevant experience in administration, finance, logistics, operations, project management, budget monitoring, event support, procurement, or document management. Experience with productivity tools (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace) and web-based systems. Experience in database management, reporting, and tracking administrative/financial processes. Desired: Experience with UN procedures and international cooperation agencies; experience supporting projects in criminal justice, drug control, or international cooperation.
