GEO Louisiana Schools seeks a qualified teacher to deliver English & Language Arts in a blended learning setting. You will align instruction to state standards while utilizing data to drive planning and intervention.

The role requires a valid Louisiana Teaching License, 2+ years of urban teaching, and collaboration with Special Education staff to support diverse learners. This is a full-time 10-month position reporting to the Principal.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with at least 24 credit hours in content area.
  • Valid Louisiana Teaching License required.
  • Strong technical skills to integrate technology in the classroom.
  • Demonstrated volunteer or community service.
  • At least one of: National Board Certification, TAP Experience, Core Knowledge Experience, Blended Learning experience.
  • At least two years of successful teaching in an urban environment.

Responsabilidades

  • Plan and implement a blended learning environment with English & Language Arts instruction.
  • Participate in TAP requirements focusing on data-driven instruction.
  • Create an engaging learning environment developing critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Prepare students for strong academic achievement and required assessments.
  • Communicate regularly with parents.
  • Assess student progress and provide regular feedback with data tracking.
  • Collaborate with Special Education teachers and administration for special needs students.
  • Attend meetings and school functions outside school hours.
  • Establish and enforce classroom behavior and procedures.
  • Accept feedback and coaching from administrative staff.

Description
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

A teacher is required to perform the following duties:

  • Plan and implement a blended learning environment, providing direct and indirect instruction in the areas of English & Language Arts based on state standards
  • Participation in all TAP requirements, focusing on data-driven instruction
  • Create an inviting, exciting, innovative and engaging learning environment that develops student critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Prepare students for strong academic achievement and passing of all required assessments
  • Communicate regularly with parents
  • Continually assess student progress toward mastery of standards and keep students and parents well informed of student progress by collecting and tracking data, providing daily feedback, weekly assessments, and occasional parent/teacher conferences
  • Work with the Special Education teachers and administration to serve special needs students in the classroom
  • Attend all grade level and staff meetings and attend designated school functions outside of school hours
  • Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom you are responsible
  • Accept and incorporate feedback and coaching from administrative staff

This is a full-time, 10-month position.

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher with at least 24 credit hours in content area
  • Valid Louisiana Teaching License (no emergency permits or substitute licenses accepted)
  • Strong technical skills, particularly in integrating technology in the classroom to drive academic achievement
  • Demonstrated volunteer or community service
  • At least one (or more) of the following: National Board Certification, TAP Experience, Core Knowledge Experience, Experience with Blended Learning
  • At least two years of successful teaching in an urban environment
