Kitopi is the world's leading tech-powered multi-brand restaurant. With a mission to satisfy the world's appetite, Kitopi operates a portfolio of both invested and franchised F&B brands, serving as enablers in the food market by helping brands to grow and scale, both in delivery and dine-in space. We are a unicorn startup operating globally with roots in Dubai, but the Tech Talent Team is based in Kraków, Poland.

As a leading food-tech business, Kitopi's growth has been largely fueled by innovative and scalable software solutions. Our kitchens are powered by our proprietary Smart Kitchen Operating System (SKOS) - an in-house suite of applications that optimizes cloud kitchen operations in real-time. Looking ahead, technological innovation, data science, artificial intelligence, and robotics will be central to our continued reinvention of the food industry.

We are building a platform that empowers chefs with data-driven insights to optimize recipes and costs. We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer (7+ years in Java) who understands business needs and can develop simple, sustainable solutions for complex problems. You will have a significant impact on our product by making key technical decisions and inspiring the team with your ideas and approach.

The ideal candidate:

• has at least 7 years of experience in commercial software development
• is a problem solver with a broad solution toolkit
• is a strong communicator, leveraging direct communication for efficiency
• has a deep sense of ownership, capable of leading discovery and delivering solutions
• can work autonomously and as an effective team player
• feels accountable for deliverables
• can define trade-offs and justify efforts
• has practical experience applying agile methodologies
• recognizes as a T-shaped specialist or Product Engineer

• Java 11+ (we work with the latest versions)
• Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
• Spring Boot
• Application integration with REST/JSON and messaging
• Relational and non-relational databases
• Tools supporting software development (Maven, GitLab)
• Quality assurance methodologies (tests, code reviews, CI/CD)
• Diagnosing and resolving production issues
• Kafka
