Purpose of Role/Summary:
The GCC Senior Legal Associate is responsible for delivering expert legal counsel, ensuring effective management of legal matters and documentation, supporting regulatory compliance, and contributing to major business initiatives, safeguarding the company's legal interests across all operations.
Main Activities & Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice:
- General review of legal documents with Company's stakeholders and third parties depending on its length, complexity, and relevant legal jurisdiction.
- Second or third round of review and negotiation of legal documents with the Company's stakeholders and third parties including meetings (internally and externally) to conclude the legal matter.
- Specific review for requests by any Business Department to amend clauses of existing legal documents.
- Review of specific inquiries depending on their length, complexity, and jurisdiction, including legal due diligence and advice based on other jurisdictions.
- Reviewing documents, websites, policies, press releases, disclaimers, RFPs, and other legal documents.
- Legal research for new inquiries requiring investigation into unfamiliar situations or jurisdictions.
- Manage legal documents:
- Drafting and reviewing correspondence with stakeholders, third parties, or clients.
- Drafting and reviewing letters for prospective partnerships, suppliers, or clients.
- Archiving original documents, letters, and signed contracts.
- Managing attestation, translation, and ancillary services related to legal documents.
- Litigation and complaints management:
- Defending or overseeing the company's defense in litigation, arbitration, ADR, and settlement bodies.
- Support Compliance and regulatory awareness:
- Assisting in submitting documents and responding to legal authorities in collaboration with Compliance teams.
- Obtaining notarized or non-notarized documents from legal entities.
- Preparing legal training materials and delivering training as needed.
- Support for new major projects:
- Supporting new company establishments, proposals, contracts, and related documentation.
- Assisting in vital projects like entering new markets, establishing new entities, or IPOs.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in law from an accredited university with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Master's degree in law is a plus, preferably from the USA, UK, or Canada.
- Admitted to the Jordanian Bar Association.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience, preferably in financial services.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written Arabic and English; additional languages are advantageous.
- High professional ethics and integrity.
- Strong corporate background.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
- Excellent communication skills.
