Job summary

  • Follow all SOPs and WIs including special container planning requirements.
  • Inspect rollover containers before vessel arrival.
  • During live vessel discharge operations, manage cargo flow in the yard.
  • Provide yard status report to management daily.

Job Responsibilities
  • Monitor control and arrange yard equipment per operation demand.
  • Support yard operation during real‑time operation with effective solutions for every challenge, considering safety factors and compliance with terminal policy and procedures.
  • Understand manual and automatic yard planning process SOPs, work instructions and ensure vessel discharge is accommodated within the same range of outbound visit per the defined yard strategy.
  • Discuss with yard strategist for improvement of vessel discharge planning process and related concerns or issues.
  • Attend all requests from line operators via e‑mail and discuss ITT related plan with yard strategist to ensure hassle‑free transportation.
  • Based on the daily game plan and gate movement, plan all gate cargo per yard strategy to achieve optimal external truck turnaround time.
  • Follow all SOPs and WIs including separate stacking requests, HAZ, OOG and special container planning requirements.
  • Before arrival and after departure of each vessel, check necessary yard housekeeping if required.
  • Inspect rollover containers before vessel arrival and, after departure, check leftover boxes and consolidate all cargo in the yard per yard strategy.
  • Plan other yard housekeeping requests according to operational requirements.
  • During live vessel discharge operations, monitor yard layout closely and manage vessel discharge cargo flow in the yard based on equipment availability.
  • Ensure no yard clashes and check the next‑hour forecast to adjust the discharge plan aligned with yard strategy.
  • Distribute discharge cargo equally among yard equipment.
  • Ensure special cargo is planned and executed in the yard as per SOPs and WIs.
  • Report to superior if any yard equipment operator is not following yard plan positions.
  • Report to management about incorrect updates by yard equipment operators during live vessel discharge operations.
  • Provide yard status report to management daily or when requested.
  • Provide yard inventory report to customer daily or when requested.
  • Report to management about incorrect yard location updates by yard equipment operators.
  • Fill and archive yard planning related papers in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Perform other duties which may be assigned from time to time by the management.
  • Optimize quay and yard operation to achieve set KPI.
  • Be responsible for safety and discipline in the work area.
  • Ensure compliance with Fatal Risk Standards, Safe Work Practices and HSE policy.
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of experience in container terminal operations.
  • Work experience in container terminal operating system.
  • Education: Diploma or Graduate.
  • Excellent computer operating skills.

  • Vessel productivity.
  • Container moves / Crane hours (GMPH).
  • Container moves / Gross Vessel Working Hour (BMPH).
  • Container moves / Net Vessel Working Hour (WBMPH).

  • Reduction in lost time incidents.
  • Zero fatalities.
  • Detailed KPI in annual PMC based on demand and direction.
