Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site visits across third‑party operations to evaluate workplace safety conditions and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Carry out risk assessments and safety audits to confirm compliance with local regulations, regional requirements, and approved safety procedures.
- Review operational processes and provide practical recommendations that reduce safety risks and improve employee wellbeing.
- Monitor safety metrics, analyze performance data, and prepare reports that highlight trends, gaps, and areas needing management attention.
- Support implementation of new safety measures and guide managers on safety‑related processes, expectations, and follow‑up actions.
- Ensure applicable Amazon supply chain policies and local or regional safety regulations are understood, applied, and monitored across partner operations.
- Lead safety discussions, participate in safety briefings, and help reinforce safe behaviors with operational teams.
- Support investigations for accidents, near misses, incidents, and unsafe conditions to identify root causes and preventive measures.
- Ensure incident communication is completed accurately and within required timelines.
- Analyze incident trends and safety performance data to recommend proactive improvement actions.
- Verify safety training completion and review training effectiveness through observation, feedback, and operational follow‑up.
- Work with partner managers, operational teams, safety stakeholders, and cross‑functional contacts to resolve safety issues and close corrective actions.
- Escalate serious concerns, repeated non‑compliance, or high‑risk findings to the Country WHS Manager when needed.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring hazards, process weaknesses, and practical ways to strengthen safety controls.
- Maintain clear documentation for site visits, audit findings, risk assessments, incident follow‑ups, and safety performance reviews.
- Travel to operational sites when required, with travel expected up to 20 percent of the time.
Ideal Profile
- Health and Safety NVQ Level 3, NEBOSH National General Certificate, or equivalent qualification is required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience demonstrating and applying workplace safety standards.
- Experience running safety metrics reports, analyzing data, identifying problems, and explaining safety performance indicators.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to travel up to 20 percent of the time for site visits, audits, and partner support.
- Experience in stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration is preferred.
- Background in operations, safety, or quality management is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team.
- Strong presentation and written communication skills for sharing findings, recommendations, and safety updates.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Practical understanding of incident investigation, risk assessment, audit follow‑up, training verification, and corrective action tracking.
