Job summary

Talents Tide in Abu Dhabi seeks a seasoned executive to lead data platform and engineering efforts. The role oversees Oracle applications, E-Business Suite, RAC/DMZ, and enterprise deployments, ensuring performance, security, and availability across the stack.

You will manage a team, coordinate with vendors, and drive integrations, data governance, and lifecycle planning in a fast-paced real estate/retail focused organization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as an Oracle Applications DBA.
• 2+ years of managerial experience.
• Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite and enterprise deployments.
• Knowledge of application integrations and enterprise application environments.
• Experience in real estate or retail sectors preferred.
• Strong communication, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills.
• Must be an Emirati.

Responsibilities

• Oversee implementation, configuration, and administration of applications and databases (Oracle & SQL Server).
• Plan and optimize IT infrastructure capacity including servers and database performance.
• Monitor database performance and manage backup, restoration, RAC, and clustering with the infrastructure team.
• Install patches, manage system changes, and ensure data integrity and system availability.
• Troubleshoot database and application issues and resolve incidents within SLAs.
• Liaise with third-party vendors for OS and server management.
• Maintain application and database lifecycle, documentation, and licensing.
• Support internal teams and coordinate security and data recovery activities.

For our client, aleading organization in Abu Dhabi, we are seeking aVice President - Data Platform and Engineering to oversee enterprise applications and database environments, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and system availability.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the implementation, configuration, and administration of applications and databases (Oracle & SQL Server).

Plan and optimize IT infrastructure capacity including servers and database performance.
